Mayari, our namesake

Updated: Jun 25, 2020

Mayari is a Philippine demi - Goddess of the moon within the mythology of Kapangpangan, Sambal and Tagalog ethnic tribes. She is commonly known for being a female, however, in legends where this deity is a male, he goes by the name Malayari. This supreme being in Filipino mythology is often associated with combat, hunting and beauty.
